Stephanie Swindle has been with Southern Company for 26 years and has worked in Coal, Gas and Renewables. She is currently the Organizational Learning Manager for Southern Company. Prior to her current role, she was the General Manager for Southern Power Solar fleet where she leads a team to support 30 solar sites and 2 battery sites located across the country. She has served as the Operations and Strategy Manager for the gas and renewable fleet in Southern Power and Human Performance Coordinator for Georgia Power – Distribution and worked with the Human Performance team in Generation. She has coached over 150 learning teams. Previously, she has served in several manager positions at coal and gas plants in Georgia and North Carolina. She also has spoken about human performance at several safety and technical conferences and been featured on a couple of podcasts. Stephanie served as the Operations & Maintenance Lead on designing and building Plant Cleveland County Combustion Turbine site while working with Southern Power. Stephanie leads initiatives focused on organizational learning, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency. Her work emphasizes leadership development, stakeholder engagement, and embedding Human Performance principles into business processes. She is a frequent facilitator of workshops and training programs, including the Leadership Response Matters course, which she designed to help leaders respond effectively to events and foster a learning culture. She has presented externally at the EPRI Human Performance Conference, NATF, Ford Motor Company, and several safety conferences. Stephanie graduated from The University of Alabama with a Mechanical Engineering degree and received her MBA from UAB. She has served on Industrial Advisory Board for the UA ME Department for over 10 years and involved with the Society of Women Engineers. Originally from Birmingham, she currently resides in Birmingham, AL with her husband, Brandon and they have two children, Summer (20) and Cooper (18).
