About me
Gina Whitney is a cardiac anesthesiologist and the Medical Director of Patient Safety at Children's Hospital Colorado. In her clinical practice as a cardiac intensivist and anesthesiologist she became fascinated (obsessed?) by the way in which our systems of care drive clinical outcomes within congenital heart surgery. She later broadened her scope to include perioperative quality outcomes and event learning. Two years ago, she took over the role of Medical Director of Patient Safety at Children's Hospital Colorado. Her recent areas of focus include the development of real-time data resources for frontline team leaders and optimizing systems for organizational learning.
