About me
Beth has spent over a decade applying Resilience Engineering, Safety-II, and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) across diverse roles and now serves as President of the Resilience Engineering Association and Director of Consulting Solutions at Forge Works. Her passion is helping people navigate the uncertainties and surprises of today’s complex world.
As Director of Safety at Lewis—one of North America’s largest line clearance companies—she led a shift from blame to learning and developed practical tools such as the Uncertainty Gauge and Press Pause, now adopted across industries. She has also advised NASA on strengthening resilience after a spacewalk near-drowning. With a background in mechanical engineering and cognitive science, Beth blends technical expertise with human performance insights to shape practices that move HOP beyond error management toward true resilience.
